Fans show their Corinthian spirit

IT’S more than a lot of clubs could pull in for a home match, but 20,000 Corinthians supporters took to the streets to wave banners, set off fireworks and block access roads at Sao Paulo’s main airport as they gave their team a rousing send-off on their way to the Club World Cup in Japan.

Fans were also pictured inside the departure hall where they chanted, waved banners and set off fire extinguishers. Corinthians go straight into the semi-finals, playing their first game on 12 December, and could face Chelsea in the final.
