MUSIC: MR SCRUFF

Electronic music producer and DJ Mr Scruff (real name Andrew Carthy) will be manning the decks at Edinburgh’s La Belle Angèle for an epic five hour set on Saturday night. Known for his zany DIY style, Mr Scruff is a venerable fixture of the UK club and festival circuit. His daring and diversity is paired with a populist instinct, which is why so many are drawn to his marathon sessions.

Saturday, La Belle Angèle, Hasties Close, Edinburgh

FOOD & DRINK: OKTOBERFEST

October may soon be coming to an end, but Glasgow’s Oktoberfest will still be in full swing this weekend. A corner of Glasgow Green will be transformed into a little slice of Germany, with free-flowing litres of beer, tasty local snacks and traditional music. With room for 2,500 people in the Oktoberfest tent you can prepare yourself for a party of epic proportions when German and Glaswegian cultures unite.

Saturday and Sunday, Glasgow Green

Scottish-Indian comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli brings his Fringe show to Behind The Wall on Sunday evening as part of Funny in Falkirk festival. A jack of many trades, Singh Kohli has dabbled in cookery and journalism but excels at stand-up. Referencing the comedian’s larger than life personality, his show Big Mouth Strikes Again takes an honest and touching look back at the many times Sing Kohli’s titular gub has landed him in trouble.

Sunday, Behind The Wall, Melville Street, Falkirk
