New deal for Pressley

Steven Pressley has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal at Falkirk, insisting the foundations have been put in place for a thriving future at the club – on and off the pitch.

The Bairns manager’s current contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but the 38-year-old has ended any speculation regarding his future by agreeing an extension until 2015.

He said: “I’m excited to be continuing my work here and it will provide consistency of coaching and philosophy for the young players coming through. This season we have put foundations in place which we can build on. Sometimes the problem in football is that there is no vision for the future – we have a vision here.”

It has also been confirmed that Pressley’s assistants at the Falkirk Stadium, Neil MacFarlane and Stevie Crawford, will also remain at the club, a detail which was thought to be a sticking point in negotiations.
