A goal either side of half-time from Armstrong Oko-Flex gave the Hoops the win over Graeme McArthur’s team.

Dennon Lewis converted for the Bairns on the half-hour after Ciaran Dunne was fouled in the box. The Englishman had already gone close but was denied by Celtic keeper Ryan Mullen.

The match also saw young Aidan laverty limp off after just a few minutes of action following his inclusion in Saturday’s first team squad for the 1-0 home defeat to Ayr. He was replaced by Kevin O’Hara.

Robbie Mutch played in goal.

Falkirk also gave run out to right-back Mustapha Dumbuya, who signed an eight-week contract hours before the game. The defender, from Sierra Leone, previously played with Portsmouth, Notts County and Partick Thistle.

Ex-Celtic striker Scott McDonald was among the crowd watching the game.
