The 49-year-old, who was most recently in charge of the Lithuanian national team, has been out of a job since September last year, when he resigned his position, but is understood to be keen to return to football management, preferably in England.

Laszlo has been linked with the vacancies at Stenhousemuir and Shrewsbury Town over the course of the last week, and is thought to be interested in the vacancy at the League Two club.

He enjoyed success during his time at Hearts, leading them to third in the SPL in 2009, and the inaugural Europa League, picking up the SPL and Scottish Football Writers’ awards for Manager of the Year.

Laszlo has also managed the Ugandan national team and, after being sacked by Hearts, joined Belgian side Charleroi.

Accrington Stanley manager James Beattie is believed to be the favourite for the position at the Kassam Stadium, while caretaker manager Mickey Lewis - who has led the Us to six points in four games - is also a contender.
