Ed Uni out to put heat on Heriot-Watt

The race for the inter-Scottish Universities football championship heats up tomorrow when Edinburgh University host Glasgow University at Peffermill, kick-off 2.00pm, requiring all three points to keep the pressure on their only challengers for the title, Heriot-Watt University.

Edinburgh currently lead the five-team league table, three points ahead of their rivals, with both Universities having three games left. “It is going to be an exciting conclusion to the competition as we still have to play Heriot-Watt,” said the Edinburgh head coach, Douglas Samuel.

Heriot-Watt are also in action at Riccarton Campus where they entertain the Edinburgh University Second XI who sit in bottom spot in the championship table. “We won this fixture 4-1 when we met earlier in the season but we realise that this will be a very tough game,” said the Heriot-Watt head coach, Michael Renwick.
