Division Two: Last-minute penalty sends Albion closer to the trapdoor

All the action from yesterday’s Division Two fixtures

East Fife 1 - 0 Stirling Albion

A LAST-MINUTE penalty from Ryan Wallace plunged bottom-placed Albion into deeper trouble. Earlier Stirling’s John Crawley was denied by an alert save from Michael Brown and Mark Ferry’s shot hit the post. A Wallace effort was kept out by Sam Filler and Bobby Linn came close.

Albion Rovers 1 - 1 Arbroath

Albion’s Robert Love saw a shot turned past by Darren Hill and John Gemmell also came close for the home side before the break.

Love opened the scoring shortly after half-time when Chris Boyle set him up but Lee Sibanda equalised for the visitors.

Dumbarton 2 - 1 Airdrie United

Dumbarton survived a goalless first half in which the visitors had been on top. Willie McLaren got Airdrie’s reward after 56 minutes but, five minutes later, Bryan Prunty equalised and Paul Lovering then turned a Scott Agnew shot into his own net.

Stenhousemuir 2 - 1 Brechin City

Iain Thomson opened the scoring with a well-struck right-foot shot from Kevin McKinlay’s pass. Grant Anderson made it 2-0 after an hour and Stewart Kean almost brought a third with a header which was just too high. John Lister pulled a goal back eight minutes from time.
