Dundee player tests positive for Covid-19, club confims

Dundee have confirmed that a member of their first-team squad has tested positive for coronavirus.

The player will miss the match against Alloa Athletic on Friday November 6 as well as the Betfred Cup tie against Cove Rangers on Tuesday November 10 and will also be a doubt for the League Cup clash with Hibs on November 15.

A statement from the Dens Park club on Monday read: “The club can confirm that a member of our playing squad has tested positive for Covid-19.

“The player was tested on Sunday and produced a positive result. He is currently self isolating in line with all government guidelines.

“In accordance with current Covid regulations both the SFA and SPFL have been informed.”

The Dark Blues are currently second in Group B, three points behind Hibs with a game in hand. The two clubs meet at Dens Park on November 15 in a match that could determine the group-winner.
