The Dens Park outfit confirmed earlier this week that one unnamed player had tested positive and was self-isolating, ruling them out of Friday night’s 3-3 draw with Alloa Athletic in Clackmannanshire.

Now the Championship side have revealed that a second player, also unidentified, has tested positive and has entered a period of self-isolation.

Players who return positive tests for Covid-19 are advised to self-isolate for ten days.

Dundee are due to play Cove Ranger and Hibs in the Betfred Cup on November 10 and 15 respectively which would rule the second player out of both matches.

The first player will almost certainly miss the Cove clash but could return to face the Easter Road side.

The initial case was reported on November 2, suggesting the isolation period could be completed prior to the match against Jack Ross’ side.
