Division 3: Forfar crash the party to make Livingston wait

FORFAR spoiled the planned Championship party at Almondvale on Saturday when they defeated Livingston 3-2 to keep the Third Division Championship alive until tomorrow night at least.

The day had started well for Gary Bollan's men with Italian striker Raffaele De Vita scoring with less than a minute played with a fine shot from distance. Ian Harty made it an unlucky thirteenth minute for Livi when he levelled and than Iain Campbell hit home a 30 yard free kick to put the Loons ahead.

The smile that Campbell's father, Dick, wore for that goal got even wider when Harty added a third with 21 minutes gone. Robbie Winters pulled a goal back 12 minutes later to put the Championship back within reach, however the goal that would have brought the draw and have the champagne corks popping never came.

The remaining play-off chasing pack had a mixed day with East Stirling going two ahead at Berwick Rangers after only 12 minutes through Craig Donaldson and David Dunn only to have to settle for a point and a drop to third place with goals from Paul McMullan and Stuart Callaghan.

Albion Rovers' hopes of a play-off took a hit after a 2-1 home defeat from Elgin while Montrose continue at the foot after going down 2-1 to Annan at Links Park.
