Craigroyston want 5-0 out their system

Craigroyston boss George Bowmaker is more than confident that his side will bounce back from their 5-0 defeat away to Duns last weekend when they host fellow promotion challengers Coldstream at St Mark’s Park.

Despite suffering their biggest loss of the season, Craigroyston are very much in the promotion race and Bowmaker has put his side’s defeat down to a few mitigating circumstances.

“Firstly, our goalkeeper was sent off after only eight minutes for handling the ball outside his penalty box. However, I did not think there was a goalscoring opportunity. We were then doing well but just before half-time we conceded a goal which had more than a suspicion of offside about it.

“Duns scored again but even at 2-0 down we were still in the game before the referee sent another of our players off for a challenge in our own half which he deemed to be a goalscoring opportunity!

“We now play Coldstream who we drew 2-2 with on their own tight park but tomorrow we are at St Mark’s which we regard as the equivalent of Wembley. We can play football there and the boys are all fired up. Our team spirit is fantastic and the kick-off cannot come quickly enough.”

Craigroyston will be without the suspended duo of goalkeeper Stuart Addison, which could mean a starting place for their goalkeeping coach and former Wimbledon goalkeeper Justin Cameron, and Andy Milligan, although Michael Stewart and Stevie Finlayson return.

Coldstream will be without leading goalscorer John Crawford, who broke his nose in a friendly last week.
