Cowdenbeath 1 -1 Hamilton Accies: Sides locked on 29

THE goal-line technology proposed for use in English football’s top tier next season is unlikely to be seen in the humble surroundings of any time Central Park soon.

Its availability in Fife would have answered yesterday’s burning question: “Was it a goal?”

The talking point in question was a 38th-minute Craig Moore header that the near-side assistant referee adjudged to have crossed the line before being clawed away by goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert.
It had a huge bearing on a result that keeps both sides locked together on 29 points – just above the First Division relegation play-off zone.

Moore’s goal cancelled out a Stevie May opener just six minutes earlier. The Accies forward sped away from defender John Armstrong before slipping a composed left-footed finish past trialist goalkeeper Colin Stewart.

Both sides had further chances. Moore outfoxed Michael Devlin with a clever dummy but dragged wide.

Keeper Stewart then got himself into real pickle when he dallied on the ball, but May’s tame shot was cleared off the line by Armstrong. Accies midfielder Darian MacKinnon had a shot saved before drilling another effort wide.
