Court move crucial for Pars survival

Dunfermline administrator Bryan Jackson has expressed confidence that the stricken Fifers will be granted full administration as the Court of Session decides the fate of the crisis club.

The East End Park outfit are in interim administration and will petition for that to be made permanent in Edinburgh today. A successful outcome will see the moratorium on the club’s creditors remain in place, allowing accountants BDO to continue its work towards attaining a Creditor’s Voluntary Arrangement.

Should the court deny the petition for full administration, Dunfermline will face liquidation, with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs owed £134,000 in unpaid taxes. “It is a huge day for the club in the sense that if this does not go through, then ­Dunfermline would be liquidated,”­ said Jackson. “However, we fully expect administration to be rubber stamped.

“We have received funding from benefactors and fans, supporters’ group Pars United have formed and helped massively with funding, and we have benefited from Saturday’s game.

“We are on course to continue working towards what is a very challenging goal of survival, so there is no reason for the court not to appoint us permanently.”
