Stirling Albion were prevented from stretching their lead at the top after a late David Goodwillie penalty gave Clyde a 1-1 draw at Broadwood.

Darren Smith had given Stirling the lead with 12 minutes left but Clyde deservedly snatched a point.

Pursuing Montrose were held 1-1 by Annan Athletic. Chris Templeman put them in front when he converted Craig Johnston’s low cross from close range.

Annan hit back and Steven Swinglehurst headed home from a Ryan Sinnamon cross, but he was sent off shortly afterwards after picking up his second yellow card.

Peterhead suffered a 3-2 home defeat by Stenhousemuir as their challenge stalled.

Stenhousemuir took the lead when Mark McGuigan headed home an Eddie Ferns’ cross but Jack Leitch equalised early in the second half. Mick Dunlop headed Stenhousemuir back in front before Jason Brown equalised with 12 minutes left. McGuigan then hit his second from the penalty spot.

Berwick Rangers and Edinburgh City fought out a 1-1 draw. City made the breakthrough when Jesus Garcia Tena netted direct from a free-kick. But the lead was short-lived as Michael McKenna equalised after 56 minutes.

Elgin City had an easy 3-1 win at Cowdenbeath, who finished with nine men. Brian Cameron gave Elgin the lead from the spot and added his second just before half-time.

Fraser Mullen was then sent off after picking up his second booking and it was not long before Thomas Reilly made it 3-0. David Syme was shown his second yellow before Cameron Muirhead’s consolation.
