The Light Blues’ Betfred Cup goalkeeper made a decent save in the 34th minute from Chris Cadden and a good save from Peter Hartley. Could hardly be faulted for Motherwell’s two goals.
JAMES TAVERNIER - 5
The Rangers full-back tried as always to get forward and add to the Ibrox club’s attacking threats but to little effect.
BRUNO ALVES - 6
The experienced Portugal defender looked calm and composed early on notwithstanding a short passback which almost put his side in trouble, but struggled along with his team mates after the break. He was lucky to stay on the field following his clash with Louis Moult in the second half.

Still to convince many Gers fans, the defender had a battle with Ryan Bowman and Louis Moult and had to go off after a challenge by the former left him with a bloodied face thanks to a broken nose

The former Aberdeen midfielder returned from suspension to shield the back four and kept the ball ticking over in the first half before it all went wrong for the Govan side. Blocked a Cedric Kipre shot on the line in the first half.
GRAHAM DORRANS - 6
One of Pedro Caixinha’s better buys on form so far this season and looked good in the early stages, but faded as the game went on. Rangers fans would have have expected more from him when they needed someone to step up.

Worked the right flank diligently, trying to link up with Tavernier and tried to work his way past the Steelmen’s defence..
JOSH WINDASS - 5

The enigmatic Mexican attacker was anonymous in the first half. Headed wide with a chance just after the break and no surprise when he was hooked on the hour mark.
ALFREDO MORELOS - 5
After a bright start to his Rangers career, the 21-year-old Colombian striker had failed to score in his previous four outings. Was in the wars against a robust Well defence. Missed a good first-half chance when he failed to hit the target with a drive and had a late header saved.
AARON NEMANE (for Pena 60) The on-loan 19-year-old from Manchester City came with half an hour remaining and lost possession for Motherwell’s second goal. 5
