STEVEN Fletcher could make a sensational move to Scotland, Rangers’ Bilel Mohsni sees red in the dressing room, and Terry Butcher is crowned king of the Edinburgh derby, plus the rest of the day’s SPFL news in Thursday’s Rumour Mill

Celtic could make Fletcher move

NEIL Lennon is reportedly set to make a £6 million bid for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.

Fletcher, capped 13 times by Scotland, is currently out of favour in the north east and Celtic are reportedly keen to bring the forward to Parkhead.

The Record claim that the move could hinge on Georgios Samaras leaving the club, freeing up a sizable chunk of the Celtic wage budget. (Record)

Mohsni madness as Rangers star sent off

BILEL Mohsni was sent off in the dressing room at the end of Rangers 1-0 win over Airdrie last night.

The French centre-back was booked over an off-the-ball incident during the game, and received a second yellow for “aggressive” behaviour as the teams went down the tunnel.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist said: “It was avoidable but he’s an emotional player.” (Various)

Edinburgh derby reaction: Butcher hailed

TERRY Butcher has been hailed as the difference-maker in last night’s Edinburgh derby, which Hibs won 2-1.

The Scotsman’s Alan Pattullo writes: “Butcher has revived Hibs by inserting some ballast into the side, and by making the changes in the creative areas that fans had been crying out for.

“This is a new Hibs, one being built in the image of a manager who... shook his fists towards the home supporters in triumph.” (Read more from Alan here)

‘Trezeguet’ honoured by Celtic link

EGYPTIAN star Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan has admitted that it would be “an honour” to join Celtic.

Hassan, 19, has been linked with a move to Glasgow in recent days, and has now spoken out on the rumours.

He said: “I am confident I could be a success there. To play in the Champions League is a dream - but a dream I’d like to make a reality.” (Record)

Aberdeen in for Swansea’s Tate

DEREK McInnes has reportedly lined up a January move for Swansea City defender Alan Tate.

According to The Sun, Tate is set for a loan move to Pittodrie as Michael Hector’s loan from Reading comes to an end.

Tate has played over 300 games for Michael Laudrup’s side, but has been told he can leave for a new club. (Sun)

Finnbogason ‘could cost £8m’

CELTIC target Alfred Finnbogason has been branded with an £8m price tag by club Heerenveen.

The valuation was revealed by the Icelander’s new agent, who is currently trying to negotiate a move for the striker.

Agent Kees Ploegsma said: “I found the price tag of 10 million euro (£8.25m) unrealistic. I think Heerenveen would consider any serious offer. It is very clear Alfred wants to leave.” (Mail)
