Clyde move closer to a switch back home

Third Division Clyde’s plans to return to within a mile of their former home at Shawfield have moved closer after members of Junior side Rutherglen Glencairn agreed to a joint venture between the clubs.

The Bully Wee resided in the south west of Glasgow from 1898 to 1986 before a nomadic eight-year spell and a move to their current rented Broadwood home in Cumbernauld in 1994.

The club’s board aims to “establish a future location in which the club can be in charge of its own destiny for the first time since selling Shawfield to the Greyhound Racing Association 70 years ago”.
