CONGRATULATIONS to Dalbeattie Star FC, whose 5-0 home win over Newton Stewart last night ensured they completed their South of Scotland League season undefeated.

The ‘Islecroft Invincibles’ sealed the championship by virtue of a 1-1 draw against Stewartry rivals and last season’s winners Threave Rovers at Meadow Park in Castle Douglas on Saturday.

For the Black & Reds it is a first senior championship for 23 years having last won the league title back in season 1988/89.
