However, Alloa snatched a point when Stevie May pounced three minutes from time to score on the rebound after Steve Masterton had struck the post.

Berwick 1, Stranraer 0

Kevin McDonald saw his 37th-minute penalty saved by Stranraer’s David Mitchell as the hosts dominated.

Danny Handling smashed home a deserved 70th minute winner for Berwick who held on despite the late dismissal of Ben Miller.

Montrose 5, Clyde 0

Merciless Montrose secured an eighth-place finish with a thrashing of Clyde.

A Martin Boyle double gave the hosts a two-goal cushion at the interval after which goals from Terry Masson and Alan Campbell put Montrose out of sight. Boyle then completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute, his 22nd goal of a prolific campaign.

Peterhead 2, East Stirling 0

Peterhead finished the season in the top half of the table after a comfortable win.

Rory McAllister crossed for James Redman to fire the home side in front after only 12 minutes. Five minutes after half-time Scott Ross headed home Peterhead’s second after Ross Smith had hit the bar.

Queen’s Park 1, Elgin City 3

Archie MacPhee gave the visitors a fourth-minute lead and subsequent strikes from Jason Crooks and Jamie Duff handed Elgin an unassailable advantage. Craig Smith notched a late consolation.
