After arriving on a temporary deal until the end of the season, Ciftci was thrown right into the starting XI for a league match with Rizespor.

Despite the visitors leading 1-0 to an early penalty, Eskisehirspor boss Samet Aybaba decided to make a tactical change and brought off Ciftci after only 35 minutes.

Seven days later, the former Dundee United attacker found himself among the substitutes bench, but was brought on for the second half with his side down 1-0. The change had the desired effect in so much that Eskisehirspor would go on to win the game 3-2, but Ciftci again failed to see the full time whistle after being sent off.

He was late and high in a challenge on Antalyaspor goalkeeper Saso Fornezzi, earning himself a second yellow just a minute after he’d picked up his first.

Oh, Nadir.
