The 24-year-old opened the scoring in the Austrian Bundesliga clash with Sturm Graz on Wednesday with a stupendous overhead kick.

A cross from the left was flicked on by a team-mate. Weissman, just inside the box, had to alter his run, adjusting his movement to meet the ball and send it flying into the top corner from around 16 yards.

The goal arrived just before half-time with Weissman also assisting the second goal after the interval which proved to be the winner.

The result lifted Wolfsberger to second in the table, five points behind Red Bull Salzburg.

Weissman’s prolific form for the Austrians has alerted the attention of Celtic, with reports earlier in the week suggesting he could be a replacement for Odsonne Edouard if the Frenchman departs.

Edouard has been linked to Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Lyon in the past, and there is expected interest in the forward this summer.

While the former PSG starlet would cost upwards of £25million, it has been reported that Weissman could be available for £4.5million.

The Israeli international has now hit 23 goals in 22 league matches, and 30 in all competitions, including two in the Europa League.
