11.00pm: Hear that? That’s the sound of the transfer window SLAMMING SHUT. John Guidetti’s loan move failed at the last hurdle but the club could still get the Swedish striker in. Celtic are to appeal to UEFA citing mitigating circumstances but the forward could also engineer his release from Manchester City and sign as a free agent. And no, Leigh Griffiths didn’t sign for Hibs. Be honest, how many of you were foxed by those spoof Hibs Twitter accounts?

10.21pm: The Scottish champions have finally got their man. Stefan Scepovic has signed for Celtic for a fee in the region of £2.3m

8.03pm: Could John Guidetti be the answer to Celtic’s striking problems? Rumours abound on twitter that Celtic are looking at possibly taking the Manchester City player on loan. The Swede had a very successful loan spell at Feyernoord where he scored 20 goals in 23 appearances, but failed to make an impression on loan at Stoke last season. The Hoops could face a battle to sign him though, as Palermo are reported to be in pole position to capture him.

7.50pm: It’s all gone a bit too quiet. Quick grab a cup of tea and get ready to settle in for the last few hours before the window shuts.

However, according to the report, Celtic told them that the Dutch star was not for sale.

4.37pm: ‘Arry is at it again! It’s being that reported that he’s nipped in to try to steal Fabio Borini from under Sunderland’s noses with a deal apparently being agreed between QPR and Liverpool for the striker.

4.35pm: Meanwhile, the signing saga that has more twists and turns than an Eastenders plotline continues to rumble on as Celtic’s move for target Stefan Scepovic could be back on after it was reported that Getafe, the club who had moved into pole position to sign the striker, are balking at his wage demands.

Reports had apparently been circulated that Celtic and Aberdeen had agreed a fee (first we’ve heard of it). McGinn’s agent Gerry Carlile said: “Niall won’t be going anywhere tonight. He is happy at Aberdeen.”

3.38pm: Afew more bits and bobs from down south - Hull have apparently signed Palermo’s Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez; though the club have yet to confirm the deal, the striker has posted a picture of himself at the club on his Facebook. 3.18pm: Reports filtering through that Sandro is at Loftus Road for a medical ahead of a deal rumoured to be in the region of £10 million. Looks like ‘Arry is keeping up his deadline day reputation by raiding his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

12.11pm: As per L’Equipe, Celtic have been linked with a move for Cameroon centre half Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, but they face competition from West Ham and Real Betis.

12.17pm: We’ve been inundated with Falcao / Rock Me Amadeus jokes already, and a yellow card for the person who suggested that Amido Balde had ‘Leffe’ Celtic for Belgium. Shameful stuff.

11.57am: Bye Bye Balde, Balde, Bye Bye ... Celtic striker Amido Balde is off to Belgian Pro League side Waasland-Beveren. Or to give the club its full name: Koninklijke Voetbalclub Red Star Waasland-Sportkring-Beveren.

11.51am: With all the players QPR have been linked with (Sandro, Aaron Lennon, Lassana Diarra, Jermaine Defoe, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson) surely it’s just a matter of time before ‘Arry appears at his car window? We hear he conducts all his deadline-day business from the driver’s seat.

11.46am: With Luis Suarez already signed for Barcelona, could former Blaugranas ‘keeper Victor Valdes be arriving at Anfield today?

11.36am: Dutch master (sorry) Patrick Kluivert has ruled himself out of the race to be the next Ross County manager. Meanwhile, we’re expecting a busy day at Easter Road / East Mains as Alan Stubbs looks to bring in cover for Farid El Alagui, out until at least January with a ruptured Achilles tendon, as well as bolstering his squad.

11.05am: Not strictly transfer-related, but Legia Warsaw have been charged by UEFA over their ‘pig’ banner, with the slogan ‘Because football doesn’t matter, money does.’ Back to deadline-day deals, James McArthur looks set to join Crystal Palace for a club record £7 million fee.

10.45am: Celtic’s Holmbert Fridjonsson has joined Danish side Brondby on loan.

10.38am: All quiet on the transfer front so far - but the most interesting part of this transfer window could be to do with ex-Hibs and St Johnstone forward Rowan Vine. Fans of the bearded striker are attempting to find the free agent a new club using the hashtag #signthevine. Unorthodox, but will it work?

10.21am: Oooft, Radamel Falcao to Manchester United on loan? Looks like it’s a possibility. Falcao, van Persie, Rooney, Mata and Di Maria is some forward line.

8.31am: Celtic midfielder Dylan McGeouch is set to join Hibs, as the Easter Road side’s bid for Leigh Griffiths looks to be dead in the water. Meanwhile, striker Farid El Alagui has been ruled out for the rest of the year with a ruptured Achilles tendon but Southampton striker Jake Sinclair is expected to join the club.

8.24am: Could Amido Balde be leaving Celtic? The Portuguese forward is said to have a number of loan options available.

8.16am: Could Scotland international George Boyd be on his way to Burnley? Hull City manager Steve Bruce has allowed the 28-year-old to hold talks with the Clarets and he could join Sean Dyche’s men for around £3 million.

7.17am: Could Radamel Falcao replace Alvaro Negredo at Manchester City? The Manchester Evening News reckon the Blues have a slim chance of tempting the £50m-rated striker to the Etihad as it emerged last night that Negredo’s people had reached an agreement with Valencia. And there could be more ins and outs at Old Trafford, with Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez linked with a one-year loan move to Real Madrid. Tom Cleverley is also attracting interest from Aston Villa while Spurs duo Sandro and Aaron Lennon could team up with former boss Harry Redknapp at QPR.

7.15am: IT’S HERE. Transfer Deadline Day has come around again. Everyone got their bingo cards ready? Keep your eyes peeled for Harry Redknapp giving interviews from his car window; dodgy sightings of top players in different locations at the same time and the inevitable Twitter pics of in-demand players being kept under lock and key by their team-mates. First, a quick look at what the papers are reporting...

• STEFAN Scepovic’s proposed move to Celtic appears to be off. The 24-year-old Serbian striker looked certain to put pen to paper on a four-year deal, for around £2.2 million, but his representatives indicated to the Hoops that the 24-year-old would be moving elsewhere, with Getafe in pole position. (The Scotsman)

• VIRGIL van Dijk will still be a Celtic player by the end of this window. Hoops boss Ronny Deila gave the Dutchman the weekend off to clear his head and be with his pregnant girlfriend. Deila added: “He is too important to us, so there is no chance we will let him go during this window. We couldn’t replace him.” (The Sun)

HIBERNIAN’S audacious bid for Leigh Griffiths appears to be off the cards. The 24-year-old scored the equaliser as Celtic stumbled to a 1-1 draw with Dundee at Dens Park, but Deila said: “Leigh Griffiths is going to stay. No players are going out.” (The Scotsman)

BARRY Robson has been linked with the vacant managerial position at Ross County after a flurry of bets were placed. However, both Aberdeen and Robson insisted no contact had been made. (The Scotsman)

ROSS County are also set to bring in Michael Gardyne on loan from Dundee United while ex-Hearts and Kilmarnock stopper Darren Barr is set to sign a deal as well. (Daily Express)
