Tony Watt situation of own making says Lierse coach

TONY Watt has no one to blame but himself for being frozen out at Lierse, according to the Belgian club’s technical director, former Everton and Fulham player Tomasz Radzinski.

The Celtic striker is in footballing limbo at Lierse after being demoted to the reserves following criticism of manager Stanley Menzo in two outspoken interviews last month.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon was particularly concerned that Watt had alleged Menzo had slapped him in a row over headphones. And, Belgian League
runners-up Zulte-Waregem and KV Oostende both confirmed they want to sign Watt.

Watt hasn’t featured for Lierse for six weeks now and Radzinski has little in the way of sympathy for the Scotland Under 21 international.

He said: “Tony shot himself in the foot.

“When you start criticising the manager, you damage the whole club.”

Watt netted seven goals in a four-game spell earlier this year before his bust-up with Menzo.
