Redknapp on Gerrard return

Jamie Redknapp believes it is inevitable that his former Liverpool and England team-mate Steven Gerrard will succeed Jurgen Klopp as manager at Anfield. Despite the failure so far to end Celtic’s monopoly of winning domestic silverware in Scottish football, Redknapp feels the improvements made at the Ibrox club over the past two seasons provide evidence that Gerrard possesses all the qualities necessary to succeed as a manager at the highest level. He added: “I think it’s only a question of time before he manages Liverpool when Klopp decides to go.” (The Scotsman)

West Ham and Leeds keen on Rangers man

West Ham and Leeds are both keen on Rangers defender Connor Goldson, according to reports. The former Brighton centre-back has impressed domestically and in Europe and the Ibrox side could well offer the 27-year-old a new deal to ward off any potential suitors. (Football Insider)

Celtic slap £12m price-tag on Ntcham

Celtic have priced in-demand midfielder Olivier Ntcham at £12 million amid interest from Southampton, according to reports. The French midfielder has had a string of interested clubs in the last season or two but the Hoops won't let him go for cheap after blocking an exit during the last transfer window. Some reports are claiming the Saints could offer goalkeeper Fraser Forster as a makeweight in any deal for the former Manchester City youngster. (Various)

PSG join Ajer race

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race for highly-rated Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer. The Norwegian has been linked with clubs including Real Madrid, Leicester and Manchester City, but the French giants have also been credited with an interest in the towering centre-back – although their priority in midfield may eventually rule them out of the running. Hickey opts for Hoops

Hearts kid Aaron Hickey has reportedly snubbed interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Leeds to join Celtic. All five clubs have reportedly scouted the young full-back but reports claim the teenager has opted to return to his former youth club as the race for his signature heats up. (90min)

Whittaker: Door open for return

Hibs players Adam Bogdan, Steven Whittaker and Vykintas Slivka will leave Easter Road when their contracts expire in June, the club has confirmed. The trio are the only first team players who are out of contract and will be followed out the exit door by development squad members Jack Hodge, Kos Sadiki and Matty Yates. The door has been left open, however, for the return of Whittaker ,with the club stating: “Hibernian hope there will be an opportunity for Steven to return in the future in some capacity, and he is held in the highest esteem by his colleagues.” (Evening News)

Kouassi seals permanent Genk switch

Out-of-favour Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi has secured a permanent move to Belgian side Genk after joining on loan in January. The Ivorian midfielder played 22 times for Celtic following a £3 million move from Krasnodar in Russia in January 2017 but fell out of favour at Parkhead. (Various)

Cash boost for FOH

Foundation of Hearts have reported their biggest membership surge in five years as Hearts fans rally to help their club survive the coronavirus crisis. More than 1,000 extra people have donated cash to FoH since Scottish football entered shutdown in March, raising subscription numbers to around the 8,000 mark. The Foundation’s target is 10,000 in order to generate an extra £500,000 a year in revenue for Hearts. The Edinburgh club currently receive £1.5m annually from from FoH and the fan group want to reach £2m. (Evening News)
