The SPFL board of directors has called an extraordinary general meeting for 12 May to discuss Rangers’ demand for an independent investigation into the processes of the governing body’s resolution empowering them to end the 2019-20 season. (The Scotsman)

Simunovic hopeful over new deal

Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic remains hopeful of striking a new deal with the Parkhead side – after the coronavirus pandemic and suspension of football halted talks between the player and club. The Croatian-born stopper’s contract expires in summer next year but the former Dinamo Zagreb ace is keen to extend his stay in Glasgow. (The Sun)

Majority of Hearts squad accept pay cut

The majority of Hearts players have agreed to wage cuts of between 10 and 30 per cent. At least two are still negotiating with club owner Ann Budge as she tries to cuts costs to mitigate financial strain brought by coronavirus. Around 10 players had still to agree to salary reductions as of this morning, but most of those have since opted to accept Budge’s proposals rather than see their contracts suspended. (Evening News)

Ross: I’m not panicking about new signings

Hibs boss Jack Ross insists the Easter Road side will not be hit too hard by possible doubts over a summer transfer budget – because he believes departures can be kept to a minimum. Only Adam Bogdan, Vykintas Slivka, and Steven Whittaker are out of contract in the summer with four loanees’ agreements ending. But Ross said: “We are probably very fortunate in that we’ve only got three players out of conrct because it gives us a pretty high degree of stability and it would mean that, if it is more challenging to recruit, we’re in a stable position.” (The Herald)
