Newcastle keen on Edouard and Morelos

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is Steve Bruce's top target for Newcastle United, report the Daily Star.

Goals have been an issue for the Premier League side this season. Their return of just 25 goals is the joint lowest in the league.

Edouard, valued at around £30m, was recommended to Bruce by his son Alex who came up against he Frenchman when playing for Kilmarnock.

It is believed Alfredo Morelos also features on Newcastle's striker shortlist.

Could the Premier League's bizarre contingency plans come to Scotland?

The Premier League could be settled through a 'World Cup-style' end to the season.

According to the Independent, talks have taken place about finishing the season across June and July whereby teams and their staff will be confined to camps in London and the Midlands.

It is seen as a potential "TV mega-event" with all 92 games broadcast live with a number of games taking place each day.

Rangers urged to get significant Tavernier fee

Ex-England international Darren Bent has urged Rangers to not sell James Tavernier on the cheap.

The captain has been linked with a move away this summer.

Bent told Football Insider they should eke out as much as they can for the player, especially if they sell him to the Premier League.

He said: “They’re not going to sell him on the cheap, they need to sell him for as much money as they can. They can do that if they can sell him to a Premier League side, I’m all for it.”

Football won't return before June

The Scottish football authorities are going to follow their English peers to announce football won't return before June, according to a report.

The Premier League has reportedly devised a World Cup-style solution to finishing the league season in June and July.

Morelos contract talks postponed

Rangers have put any contract talks with Alfredo Morelos on hold, according to a report.

The report suggests the club were keen to hand him a new and improved deal with a number of clubs taking a keen interest in the Colombian international.

Edouard could find PL too hard to turn down

Ex-Celtic defender Mark Wilson reckons his former club may find it really difficult to hold onto Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman has recently been linked with a big-money move to Newcastle United.

Wilson told the Scottish Sun: "I’m not sure if foreign players see it that way though. I know they love the club and everything that comes with Celtic, but I’m not so sure it means as much to them winning ten Scottish league titles in a row as it does to born and bred Celtic fans.

"The lure of the Premier League might just be too much."
