The Rangers 'charter' which the rebels hope will win support

Rebel Rangers shareholders issue charter

The 4 men looking to force their way onto the Rangers board at the club’s AGM on December 19 have issued a list of pledges they believe will restore trust between the fans and the boardroom.

Malcolm Murray, Paul Murray, Alex Wilson and Scott Murdoch have all signed the 8 point charter.

It states:

• We will never sell the stadium. We will ring-fence the assets to ensure this can never happen again. This is our home and will always remain our home.

• We are committed to fan representation on the board

• No director (including his/her family members or close business associates) shall have any financial interest in any contract involving the club.

• We will undertake to ensure that all executive directors’ salaries and bonuses are approved by the renumeration committee and subject to market benchmarking

• We will undertake to ensure that all shareholders are treated equally

• We will undertake to ensure that there is total transparency in all club affairs

• There will be no long-term debt

• All non-executive director fees are to be waived unless the club is in Europe

Bangura’s former coach urges Celtic to “take care of him”

Mohamed Bangura’s former manager at Elfsborg believes he could be a success at the Parkhead club if he is mentored and coached upon his return.

The Sierra Leone international signed a 4 year deal after signing from AIK Stockholm for £2.2m in 2011 but failed to score in 16 appearances.

He caused controversy this season when he played against Celtic for his loan club Elfsborg against their wishes in a Champions League qualifier.

Jorgen Lennartsson said: “The plan was always that he would go back to Scotland after one year to play again and if Celtic need that kind of player, if they work with him every day , and take care of him, I think he could go back there and do well.” (Herald)

Celtic striker target carried £6m price tag

Celtic will have to pay at least £6m if they are to land Huddersfield striker James Vaughan in the January transfer window. Neil Lennon watched the 25-year-old in action last night however reports this morning suggest the player would cost in excess of £6m and have wage demands outside of the club’s wage structure. Dundee United’s Ciftci handed 2 match ban

Tannadice striker Nadir Ciftci has been handed a two match ban despite being found guilty of “excessive misconduct” by the SFA.

Ciftci was originally charged with “seizing hold” of assistant referee Gavin Harris “by the throat” during the club’s League Cup defeat to Inverness in October.

The charge was amended to “excessive misconduct” which carries a lesser penalty.(Various)

John Hughes expected to be new Inverness boss

Former Hibs manager John Hughes is expected to be paraded as the new Inverness manager today following the departure of Terry Butcher to the Easter Road club.

Hughes had a 17 month stint in charge of Hibs and has also managed Hartlepool, Falkirk and Livingston. (Scotsman)

Celtic in Dutch and US Link up

Celtic are in talks with two clubs to start partnerships in Holland and the USA. FC Gronigen secured a commercial partnership with the Parkhead club last week with American side Jacksonville NASL also close to signing a similar agreement. (Sun)

Rangers hit club record with Forfar win

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has praised his players after they set a new post-war benchmark by beating Forfar 6 - 1 last night.

The Ibrox side have racked up 19 straight wins and have maintained a 100 per cent record in League One so far this term.

McCoist said: “They can be very proud of their run at the moment but it has to continue on Saturday against Ayr United.”
