Celtic set to lose out on Croatian wonderkid

Osman Sow has heart set on returning to England

Hearts Swedish frontman can leave for free at the end of the season and discussions have already started on a long-term contract at Tynecastle.

It is understood that the striker has enjoyed his time at the club and will hold talks but his long term goal is a return to England where he failed to make the breakthrough at Crystal Palace two years ago.

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson said: “It’s a big stage of his career. He’s a good player and there is definitely going to be interest in him.

“I actually thought there might have been some in the summer because he had scored a lot of goals but maybe the fact he hadn’t done it in the top flight was an issue.

“Osman has been fantastic for us. He’s a great guy and doesn’t take a lot to do with his contract. His agent looks after that side so he can just concentrate on his football.”

Sow said: “At the moment it feels as if this is the most important contract of my career. A move to England? Yes, but you’ve got to think about when is the right time and if I’m good enough. You need ambition or you’re as well going home.” (Record)
