King on a mission to clean up club

New Rangers chief Dave King has vowed that he won’t rest until the fans get the answers they want about how the club was run in the last few years.

New Rangers board looks to put club first

Fan ownership group Rangers First have welcomed Dave King’s surge to power at Ibrox and has vowed to work closely with the new board.

The group, which has 13,000 members and a 2.46 per cent stake in the club, have fully backed King’s new regime alongside interim chairman Paul Murray and directors John Gilligan and Douglas Park.

Rangers First spokesman Ricki Neill said: “We have cause to celebrate today as men of impeccable corporate pedigree and genuine Rangers supporters are now in control of the club.” (Daily Record)

New director and former brewery boss John Gilligan is looking to play his part in the new order at Ibrox and the rebuilding process by ‘enjoying the moment’.

Resignation rumour branded ‘vindictive’

Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara has hit out at rumours suggesting he is about to quit amid claims he and club chairman Stephen Thompson had fallen out.

The supposed rift has come following the transfers of Dundee United stars Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven to Scottish Cup opponents Celtic.

Gossip on social media surrounding rumours of his departure has prompted McNamara to personally reassure his players.

He said: “One person starts something and it becomes gospel. You then have to speak to players and reassure they they should not believe it unless it is coming from me.” (Scottish Daily Mail)

Celtic skipper Scott Brown is insisting that the squad has what it takes to make a historic clean sweep following Celtic’s shock midweek defeat to St Johnstone.

Echoing similar comments made by gaffer Ronny Deila about the team’s treble ambitions, Brown said: “It’s never going to be easy to win a treble. You need to battle every game to get the ball down and play.”
