Ronny Deila jets in

Ronny Deila flew into Glasgow this morning and could be set to be paraded as Celtic manager today. It is understood Peter Lawwell has negotiated compensation with Stromsgodset, thought to be around £300,000, after a tense day of talks. This has cleared the way for Deila to become Neil Lennon’s successor.

John Collins is also favourite to become the Norwegian’s number two, as Celtic look to partner Deila with someone who has inside knowledge of the club and the Scottish league. (Various)

Celtic are in signing talks with former Scotland no. 1 with a view to offering him a contract. Gordon has been training with the Scottish Champions for the last few weeks and is expected to be given a medical today. The deal could make him the first signing of the Ronny Deila regime.

Gordon has previously trained with Hearts and Rangers, been a coach with Dumbarton and attracted interest from a host of other clubs. The keeper, who cost last club Sunderland a record-breaking £9million from Hearts, has won 40 caps and recently vowed to win back his place in the national set-up. (Record)

Miller denies questioning Rangers finances

KENNY Miller insists he did not seek assurances about the state of Rangers’ finances before signing for the club for the third time. He said: “No, (I didn’t seek any assurances about the health of the club) because there was only one thing on my mind and that was coming back here to play.

“Anything else that happens along the way, I will deal with that when it comes. I just hope all the stuff off the field can sort itself out and me and the rest of the players can concentrate on the football side.”

“Obviously there has been a lot of changes behind the scenes but as players we can’t affect that. All we can affect is what goes on out there on the pitch.” (Record)

Miller calls for Rangers to sign Boyd

Kenny Miller has hinted that he wants to team up with former strike partner Kris Boyd. Boyd who is a free agent, scored 22 goals for Kilmarnock this season and Miller believes he would be a great signing. He said: “I’ve spoken to Kris and if the opportunity was there, it’s something he’d be interested in.”

Boyd however, says there’s been no approach. He said: “I’ve not spoken to or heard anything from Rangers.” (Sun)
