Celtic are considering a change to their management structure that would see Neil Lennon’s successor working as a director of football last tried 14 years ago during the infamous Barnes/ Dalglish era. (Herald)

Moyes at top of Parkhead shopping list

Dermot Desmond is reported to have David Moyes at the top of his shortlist following the departure of Neil Lennon.

The Parkhead club’s majority shareholder will decide over the weekend whether to make an approach for Moyes who could view the Celtic job as a chance to rebuild his reputation. (Record)

• Neil Lennon has emerged as the frontrunner for the West Bromwich Albion job with reports his agents have been in touch with the Premiership club

• Oscar Garcia says he would be interested in the vacant Celtic job and that he would achieve progress in Europe with the Parkhead club. Garcia rose to prominence within Barcelona’s youth set up before going on to win a title with Maccabi Tel Aviv and a Premier League near miss with Brighton.

Garcia is reported to be on the shortlist to replace Neil Lennon. (Mail)

• Former Celtic manager says leaving his post after three successive titles will be a viewed as a “gamble” but says he feels the time is right to leave the Parkhead. Lennon says he will take time to think over his next move and see what offers come in. (Scotsman)

• Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink says the new Celtic manager must be familiar with how the club operates and says that is a near definite that Henrik Larsson will return to Parkhead at some point

• Neil Lennon says he would back Henrik Larsson as his replacement but the move looks unlikely as the Swede’s current club Falkenberg say he is going nowhere

• Roy Keane has distanced himself from the Celtic job saying that his job as a pundit and assistant to Martin O’Neill for the Republic of Ireland means he has his hands full

Burley hits out at Lee McCulloch

George Burley has hit out at Rangers captain Lee McCulloch for turning his back on Scotland when he was in charge on the national side adding that his and Kris Boyd’s withdrawl from the national side set the tone for his time as manager. (Record)
