Celtic close to Blackett deal

CELTIC are reportedly close to sealing a season-long loan deal for Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett.

And the Hoops could look to buy Blackett next season, with the 21-year-old likely to cost around £3 million.

A product of Manchester United’s youth system, Blackett has also had spells with Blackpool and Birmingham, and has appeared for England at all levels between Under-16 and Under-21. (Various)

Celtic to learn outcome of Christie bid

CELTIC will find out over the next couple of days if their £500,000 bid for Inverness Caledonian Thistle star Ryan Christie has been accepted.

The Hoops are likely to loan Christie back to the Caley Jags if the deal is accepted. (Daily Record)

Warburton ‘has identified January targets’

MARK Warburton has revealed he has already identified January targets - despite the current transfer window still being open.

The Ibrox boss is hopeful that loan signings Nathan Oduwa, Dominic Ball and Gedion Zelalem will help attract other targets - if they can do the business for Rangers.

Warburton said: “We have targets we’re looking for in January. Again, we have to show teams here that we can look after the players. We have to show the environment is right, that we have that winning mentality.” (Daily Express)

Billy Mckay joins Dundee United on loan deal

DUNDEE United have confirmed the signing of striker Billy Mckay on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.

The Tannadice club had a £200,000 bid accepted earlier this week but the former Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker has now returned north on a temporary switch until the end of the season.

Hibernian had also been interested in the Northern Ireland international international but he has opted to move to United. (The Scotsman)

Magennis slams Killie fan’s rant as ‘poison’

JOSH Magennis has hit out at Gordon Sawers, after the Kilmarnock fan’s astonishing video rant after the Rugby Park side’s 4-0 defeat to Ross County went viral.

But Magennis has dismissed Sawers’ comments, calling them ‘poison’ adding: “You should listen to the people that matter and, for me, people like that don’t matter.”

Sawers has since responded by describing Magennis as a ‘diddy’. (Scottish Sun)
