The attacker has been the subject of speculation ever since he was omitted from Celtic’s Champions League qualifying clash with Maribor.

Such speculation intensified when Neil Lennon took over at Bolton Wanderers, with the ex-Celtic boss said to be interested in luring away some of his former players.

However, Deila insists he has spoken to Commons and the 31-year old, whose contract expires at the end of this season, is happy to remain with the Scottish champions.

“Kris has a contract here and he wants to stay at Celtic, that’s what I know and that’s what I’ll be working for,” said Deila.

“We speak together all the time, the players and the staff. We are used to these rumours.”

Deila also revealed the player is a doubt for Celtic’s Europa League clash with FC Astra.

Commons will have a late fitness test on the muscle injury in his buttocks which kept him out of Saturday’s 5-0 victory at Ross County.
