Rangers eye EPL duo, Celtic man set for exit, Hearts & Hibs latest - Scottish Premiership Rumour Mill

The latest Scottish football news, transfer rumours, and gossip…

Steven Gerrard has already added Calvin Bassey to his Rangers squad and has been linked with two more English-based signings

Gers weigh up Brewster bid

Rangers could make a move for Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster. The striker is currently on loan with Championship side Swansea City but the Ibrox side are hopeful of reuniting Steven Gerrard with his former charge once that spell is up. The 20-year-old netted four times in 11 games for the Swans and although the Welsh side want him back on a season-long arrangement, the prospect of playing European football and under Gerrard could persuade Brewster to move north. Celtic man set for loan exit

Celtic winger Maryan Shved could be on his way back to former club Karpaty Lviv on loan. The Ukrainian attacker played just three times for the Hoops last term and is due to report back to Lennoxtown for pre-season training this week. But the player’s former club could pounce if Celtic manager Neil Lennon green-lights a loan deal for the 22-year-old. (The Sun)

£2m for Gers target Dykes

Rangers will have to shell out £2 million to land Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes. The 24-year-old has one year left on his contract and his 12 goals in 33 games reportedly made him a top priority for the Ibrox side. But the Lions are reluctant to lose Dykes for anything less than a seven-figure sum, with a handful of clubs in England also monitoring the Australian-born forward’s situation. (Daily Mail)

Boost for Hibs in winger chase

Hibs have been dealt a boost in the transfer market with Peterborough playing down their interest in Accrington Stanley winger Jordan Clark. The 26-year-old has attracted interest from Portsmouth as well as the Hibees but Posh chief Barry Fry insisted the sideman was not on his radar. Jack Ross saw ten players leave his playing squad after the season wrapped up and he will be keen to add to his ranks ahead of the new season. (The Sun)

Gers set for second Foxes raid

Steven Gerrard could plunder Leicester City’s playing squad once again as he eyes further reinforcements for his Rangers squad. Having already signed Calvin Bassey from Brendan Rodgers’ side, the Ibrox boss is also keen on right-back Dennis Gyamfi, but with the 18-year-old on the radar of clubs such as Arsenal, Feyenoord, and Manchester United, Gerrard may have his work cut out in capturing the defender when his contract runs out at the end of this month. Robbo ‘should be Hearts boss’

John Robertson is the ideal man to take former club Hearts back to the Scottish Premiership, according to former Stenhousemuir and Alloa boss Terry Christie. Writing in The Scotsman, former school headteacher Christie said: “Having John and his brother Chris in my school teams at Portobello High are memories I cherish. And, by the way, if Daniel Stendel leaves Hearts would Robbo not be the man to take them back into the Premiership?” (The Scotsman)

United rekindle Nisbet interest

Dundee United are set to rekindle their interest in Dunfermline striker Kevin Nisbet, having had a bid for the former Raith Rovers man thrown out in January. Hibs also had an offer for the 23-year-old turned down by the Pars but Robbie Neilson could return with a new package for the Glasgow-born forward as the Tannadice side prepare for life in the top flight. Fox on Killie radar

Free agent Scott Fox is on Kilmarnock’s radar as the Rugby Park side look to add to their squad ahead of the new campaign. The former Ross County shot-stopper triggered a relegation clause and left Partick Thistle earlier this month, and is now on Killie’s wishlist as they look to replace Laurentiu Branescu and Jamie MacDonald.
