Three-game German tour for Celtic

Celtic’s first pre-season game of the summer will be a friendly against Bundesliga side FC Augsburg on Tuesday 10 July.

They will travel to the Stauferpark-Stadion in Donauworth for the match during their training camp in Germany before taking on Stuttgart Kickers at the Grazi Stadion on the following Sunday.

The final match of their tour will be against Vfr Aalen at their Scholtz Arena on Tuesday, 17 July. Kick-off times for the three games in Germany have yet to be confirmed.

A glamour friendly against Dutch champions Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA on Saturday, 21 July had already been lined up and Celtic will return home to Parkhead on Wednesday 24 July to play English Premier League side Norwich City, formerly managed by Paul Lambert and now under the coaching of Chris Hughton.

After a Uefa Champions League qualifier at the end of July, followed by the start of the SPL season on 4 August when Celtic play host to Aberdeen, Neil Lennon’s side will travel to Philadelphia for a high-profile match against reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid.

They are likely to face the world-calss talents of Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil, who have all been in action this week in the semi-finals of Euro 2012.
