Celtic ‘to make move for Andrews’

Celtic have been linked with a move for West Brom’s Republic of Ireland midfielder Keith Andrews. The Euro 2012-bound player is out of contract and has been offered a new deal at the Hawthorns, but Parkhead boss Neil Lennon believes he can persuade him to swap the Premier League for the SPL and Champions League football. • West Ham and QPR are set to launch £7million bids to sign Celtic striker Gary Hooper. Southhampton, meanwhile, could drop their interest in the Englishman after having an offer for Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez accepted. (Sun)

Rangers latest

• Rangers won a court fight yesterday against the 12-month transfer ban imposed by a Scottish Football Association discipline tribunal, but the Ibrox club could end up with a worse punishment for bringing the game into disrepute - which include suspension or expulsion from participation in the game, ejection from the Scottish Cup and termination of membership. • Rangers, however, believe a technicality will mean FIFA will not wade into the club’s dispute with the SFA. (Herald)

Aberdeen confirm Hayes signing

Aberdeen have announced the signing of Jonny Hayes from Inverness. Dons chief executive Duncan Fraser said: “Jonny was a key target and we’re delighted. I’m pleased to say he has chosen Aberdeen ahead of a number of potential clubs.” (BBC)

Saints sign Miller

St Johnstone have confirmed the signing of right-back Gary Miller, who played a vital role in Ross County’s First Division championship success last season. The ex-Livingston player did not renew his contract with the Staggies and has signed a one-year Saints deal. (Scotsman)
