Lafferty linked with Championship move

Huddersfield are considering a move for Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty. Aware that they may be able to offer a cut-price sum of £575,000 for the Northern Ireland international due to a clause in his contract over Ibrox wage cuts, the newly-promoted Championship club. (Sun)

• Huddersfield Town chairman Dean Hoyle has said that Celtic target Jordan Rhodes may stay at the club, due to their Championship status. (Record)

• It has also been reported that Celtic have been told that an up-front payment of £3million would be enough to secure the signing of Rhodes. It is understood that the Scotland under-21 striker was assured before Huddersfield won promotion that he would be allowed to leave if any club bid £3million with further add-ons. (Express)

Feruz tweets of Scots snub hint

Chelsea youngster Islam Feruz has taken to Twitter to hint that he may turn his back on Scotland. The Somali-born 16-year-old, who came through the Celtic youth system, tweeted: “Would love to play in the African Nation Cup! • Administrators Duff & Phelps have set 14 June as the date when their attempt to avoid the liquidation of the Ibrox club through a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) will be held. (Scotsman)

• David Low, the financial consultant who advised Fergus McCann on his takeover of Celtic in 1994, insists that Charles Green will be buying Rangers for a knock-down price. Low knows the former Sheffield United chief executive but denied internet rumours that he is part of the consortium. (Scotsman)
