Rangers bidders not put off by potential sanctions, Livingston slam Rangers ‘newco’ league plans and SPL restructure talks delayed

Ng not put off by future SPL sanctions

• The leader of the Singapore consortium looking to take over Rangers, Bill Ng, says his interest in the club remains despite looming sanctions should the SPL club be liquidated and admitted back into the SPL.

The club would be docked 10 points for two seasons and have 75% of their league payments slashed for three seasons. (Scotsman)

• Prospective Rangers buyer Bill Miller says he too would not be put off should the SPL impose penalties on a newly-formed Rangers adding that the proposals would be in the best interests of the club and the league. (Mail)

• Administrators Duff and Phelps say they are hopeful of announcing their preferred bidder for the club today

• Rangers fans have threatened to boycott SPL grounds should ‘draconian’ proposals devised by league bosses should the Ibrox club enter administration be implemented.

• The SPL would lose all credibility if a newly formed Rangers are allowed back into the SPL, according to Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall.

Livingston were relegated from the first to the third division after entering financial difficulties in 2009.

• Rangers directors Dave King and Andrew Ellis have called on the club’s administrators to force the resignation of Craig Whyte

Talks on SPL structure delayed

A decision on changes to the SPL voting structure has been delayed until 30 April. The ten non Old Firm clubs are looking to change the current 11-1 voting structure, which favours Celtic and Rangers, to a 9-3 format. (Scotsman)

Dalglish given vote of confidence by Liverpool

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said that manager Kenny Dalglish has the full support of the clubs owners following the dismissal of director of football Damien Comolli.
