2 May, 1999 Celtic 0, Rangers 3

Rangers recorded a comprehensive victory in match that was marred by ugly scenes as they captured the title in a volatile encounter at Celtic Park.

Two goals from Neil McCann and a Jorg Albertz penalty won the match for Rangers, but the game is best remembered for referee Hugh Dallas being struck by a coin to the head, shortly after sending off Celtic’s Stephane Mahe.

6 May, 1967 Rangers 2 Celtic 2

A point was enough for Celtic in a hard-fought game at Ibrox played in front of 78,000 spectators. Rangers took the lead, which lasted for all of a minute, through Sandy Jardine, before Jimmy Johnstone levelled the scores in the 41st minute. Johnstone scored again to put Celtic ahead with 16 minutes remaining, but Rangers replied through Roger Hynd to earn a draw with a goal after 81 minutes. It was to be a historic and, to this day, an unparalleled season of success for Celtic, led by Jock Stein, as they went on to lift the European Cup shortly after. Their win over Inter Milan in Lisbon completed a clean sweep of all four trophies.

18 April, 1927 Celtic 0-1 Rangers

Rangers were competing with Motherwell for the league title under the leadership of Bill Struth and effectively sealed the championship with this victory. A Jimmy Fleming goal in front of 44,000 at Celtic Park was enough to win the game for Rangers 1-0. The triumph put Rangers eight points clear of challengers Motherwell and secured what was their third title in four years.

25 April, 1908 Rangers 0-1 Celtic

Celtic were vying with Falkirk for the league title. Their third-last game of the season brought them to Ibrox knowing that a win would be enough as it would move them three points ahead of Falkirk, who could only take a maximum of two points from their final game against Rangers’ Old Firm rivals. The Scotland forward Alex Bennett, who would be controversially signed by Rangers two weeks later, netted what proved to be the only goal of the game for Willie Maley’s side and complete the double over Rangers. Falkirk finished in second place, four points behind Celtic, who they secured a draw with in their final match.
