Two goals by Georgios Samaras tipped the scales back in Celtic’s favour in their 2-0 win at Ibrox.

The clubs drew 2-2 in the Scottish Cup with Jamie Ness and Steven Whittaker (pen) on target for the home side and Kris Commons and Scott Brown replying. An effort from Mark Wilson gave Lennon a 1-0 win in the replay.

Goals by Hooper (2) and Commons gave Celtic an emphatic 3-0 league win at Parkhead in February. But Rangers got their revenge in the CIS Cup Final in March with goals by Steven Davis and  Nikica Jelavic giving them a 2-1 victory. Joe Ledley netted for Celtic. Despite leading 2-1 at half-time, Celtic nosedived to a 4-2 defeat in the first Old Firm confrontation of the season.

But Lennon turned that around with the 1-0 victory in midweek with Ledley on target.
