Ki Sung-Yeung deal on hold

KI SUNG-YEUNG has revealed he’s put new Celtic contract talks on hold until the end of the season.

The South Korean midfielder helped the Hoops clinch their 43rd title with a 6-0 win at Kilmarnock at the weekend.

It was his first league trophy with Celtic and he is determined to help his club win successive Scottish Cups, after he netted in last year’s win over Motherwell.

Ki, who was linked with a move to Liverpool this season, still has two years left to run on his current deal. He said: “I will wait until the end of the season before I talk about my contract. Now does not seem the right time to discuss it – it’s important to end the season first.”
