Van Dijk’s agent has already stated he expects the 22-year-old to move south to the English Premier League this summer after an outstanding first season for the Scottish champions.

But, according to reports in the Netherlands, Dynamo have made the first move by asking Celtic to name their price for the centre-back, who is expected to be valued at around £8 million by the Parkhead side.

Dynamo may struggle to persuade the player to move east. Van Dijk rejected an offer to go to Russia last summer when Kuban Krasnodar tried to beat the Parkhead side to his signing. He opted instead to sign for Celtic from Groningen
for £2.6m.
