Striker Georgios Samaras and defender Adam Matthews sported the new Celtic strip, which features nine thinner hoops instead of the usual seven, at Parkhead yesterday, with the jersey having an anniversary crest surrounded by Celtic knotwork.

Rhys McCabe showed off the Ibrox side’s new kit, which features an all-blue jersey, to commemorate the club’s Cup Winners’ Cup victory in Barcelona in 1972, and also celebrates the 140th anniversary of Rangers.

On both shirts, the logo of main sponsor Tennent’s Lager is smaller, and appears below the crest on the left breast of the shirt rather than across the chest as in previous seasons.

The new Celtic home kit will be available in July, with the new Rangers strip available from May 24th.
