Celtic 0 - 2 Valencia: How the Celtic players rated
Ratings out of ten for every Celtic player as Brendan Rodgers’ side slumped to a first-leg defeat in the Europa League.
The Celtic starting XI line-up before the game. Picture: SNS Misplaced an early pass with his feet and put his defenders under pressure too much with his distribution throughout. (5/10) A lot was expected of the Dortmund loanee but he was barely in the game. (5/10) At fault for both of the goals and didn't play well. At all. (3/10) Needlessly stepped up in the build up to the opener and wasn't too clever at the second either. (4/10) Was one of many Celtic defenders who was far too passive in the build up to the second. (5/10) His passing was dreadful in the first half and he largely chased shadows all night. (4/10) Had a couple of promising runs and could've won a first-half penalty. (6/10) Had a bright start, including a couple of efforts, but soon faded. (6/10) A couple of early runs helped create space for team-mates but his first touch was poor all night. (4/10) Another who had a really bright opening 20 minutes, he failed to do much to impact things after. (6/10) Probably Celtic's brightest player on the night as his performance lasted until half-time. Eventually it would fall away also. (6/10) Fired a chance over the bar shortly after coming on. (6/10) Had a couple of bright moments playing on the left of the front three after coming on as sub. (7/10)
