The record-breaking former Newcastle goalkeeper made his first England appearance in a friendly against Chile last year, and performed well despite the South American side winning 2-0.

Forster is one of four goalkeepers named alongside Manchester City’s Joe Hart, John Ruddy of Norwich and West Bromwich Albion’s Ben Foster.

The towering goalkeeper was called up to the England squad four times before winning his first cap in November 2013 at Wembley.

His appearance against Chile made him the just the second Celtic player to play for England whilst at the Glasgow club.

England are only able to take three goalkeepers to Brazil for the World Cup this year, and Forster will have to battle with Hart, Ruddy and Foster for one of those three spots.

England face Denmark on March 5th 2014, kick-off 20:00.
