European qualifier dates announced for Scots clubs

The opening fixture dates for SPFL clubs competing in European competition in season 2014/15 have been confirmed.

Four SPFL clubs will participate in Europe next season, with St Johnstone booking their place in the Europa League on Saturday after their Scottish Cup victory over Dundee United.

Celtic will attempt to reach the group stages of the Champions League while Motherwell and Aberdeen will also compete in the Europa League.

Celtic will play in the second round of the Champions league qualifiers on July 15 or 16 and July 22 or 23 with the draw being made on June 23.

St Johnstone and Motherwell will play in the second round of the Europa League qualifiers on July 17 and 24 with Aberdeen entering the first round of the qualifiers on July 3 with the second leg played on the 10th.

The draw for all Europa League ties will be made on June 23.
