The Celtic team of the mid-1960s wore an all-green strip, while the teams of the early 1980s occasionally wore a third kit comprising a green shirt with white pinstripes, white shorts and green socks.

The club’s slogan ‘A Club Like No Other’ is included on the neckline along with a Celtic cross.

Stefan Johansen, the Scottish PFA Player of the Year, said: “You always want to make a strong impression from the moment you step on the pitch - New Balance has made an away kit which will achieve this.

“The kit stays true to the clubs traditions, and is unique and comfortable.

“We all really like it.”

Richard Wright, New Balance Football’s general manager added: “Every kit we make is important to us, but with this being our first away kit with the club, we wanted to show the fans that we respect the tradition and heritage of the club.

“We have created a kit that nods its head to the past, while incorporating a modern, sleek design that heralds the ambition of both the club and New Balance to enjoy a successful future together.”
