Donegal manager McGuinnes has worked as a performance consultant at Parkhead since November.

But Lennon has told the Gaelic football coach to focus all his efforts on the All Ireland Championship.

“I see Jim every day when he’s here,” Lennon said. “He sits basically just outside my office. I had a good long chat with him when I came back from Portugal.”

“Basically, I’d like Jim to be a little less involved because I’d like him to concentrate on Donegal for the time being and as we’re getting into the teeth of the season round October and November Jim can really do his stuff again.

“We’re really happy with the stuff he’s bringing to the younger lads – we’ll see the benefits of that in a year or two’s time.”
