He was rumoured to be joining Tottenham Hotspur in January but remained at Craven Cottage for the rest of the season.

Despite interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, Celtic have landed the highly coveted French youth international.

A statment issued by Celtic said: “Celtic are delighted to announce the signing of Moussa Dembele from Fulham on a four-year contract, beginning on July 1.

“The talented striker becomes Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the summer and the highly-rated 19-year-old Frenchman will join up with his new team-mates for pre-season training in Slovenia.”

It is thought Celtic have paid around £500,000 for Dembele who began his career with Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Fulham at the age of 16.#
