CELTIC

CRAIG GORDON - 8/10

Stood up well to make two crucial saves from Martyn Waghorn. Excellent with the ball at his feet, which helped his defence when Rangers pressed high up the park early on. Produced a great stop before the goal.

MIKAEL LUSTIG - 6

Misplaced some passes as Celtic made a nervous start but defended well afterwards.

KIERAN TIERNEY - 8

Always positive and confident on the ball even during a shaky opening period for the hosts, he was again one of Celtic’s top performers with a penalty-box nutmeg on James Tavernier the highlight.

ERIK SVIATCHENKO - 5

Struggled to get to grips with Martyn Waghorn. Was too slack considering the pace the game was played at.

DEDRYCK BOYATA - 6

His mistake allowed Waghorn in for a glorious first-half chance but Gordon rescued him. Otherwise solid.

NIR BITTON - 5

Forced to play the ball back a lot as Rangers pressed early on. Taken off at half-time.

SCOTT BROWN - 8

Influential throughout, the skipper helped settle his team with some forceful play to get them moving forward in the opening quarter.

JAMES FORREST - 6

Did not create too many problems but his return pass set up the opener.

STUART ARMSTRONG - 9

Proved the catalyst for Celtic to get a foothold in the game. All five shots found the target, including a brilliant left-footed strike to open the scoring. Celtic suffered when he was substituted.

SCOTT SINCLAIR - 5

The wide player could not make his mark, failing to hit the target for only the second time this season having played 90 minutes. The last time came in the Nou Camp.

MOUSSA DEMBELE - 6

Not at his sharpest, was beaten to the ball too many times. Had one shooting chance to add to his five goals against Rangers but his weak effort failed to seriously trouble the goalkeeper. Looked livelier in the second half.

SUBSTITUTES

CALLUM McGREGOR (for Bitton, 45) - 6

Some busy and effective play put Rangers on the back foot but he was moved deeper and found that role more testing.

PATRICK ROBERTS (for Forrest, 69) - 5

Looked lively but could not find a breakthrough.

LEIGH GRIFFITHS (for Armstrong, 73) - 5

Could have had a penalty and his injury-time effort was well blocked.

RANGERS

WES FODERINGHAM - 6/10

Made several good stops from Armstrong but could not get down quickly enough to stop the opener. His kicking sometimes put Rangers under pressure.

LEE HODSON - 8

The right-back played played Scott Sinclair as well as anyone has in Scotland this season.

LEE WALLACE - 7

Largely nullified the threat of Forrest.

DANNY WILSON - 6

Made some good interceptions to deny Dembele but did inadvertently set up the striker in the second half. Booked for a lunge on Armstrong.

CLINT HILL - 6

Fortunate to escape a first-half yellow card for a series of fouls after being exposed. Booked early in the second half but somehow popped up in the right place to net on the rebound and become an unlikely hero. Stopped Griffiths scoring late on but Celtic appealed for a penalty.

JAMES TAVERNIER - 7

Deployed in midfield to help guard against the threat of Tierney and Sinclair. Was booked for taking his frustration out with a wild tackle on Brown but played a major contribution in the equaliser with composed play.

JASON HOLT - 7

Midfielder put in a decent shift and came close to a leveller with a curling effort.

EMERSON HYNDMAN - 7

Looked dangerous early on, found it difficult to stem the tide when Celtic dominated but his drive led to the leveller.

BARRIE McKAY - 5

Had to play a more disciplined role than normal and never let anyone down, although he was quiet going forward.

KENNY MILLER - 6

Helped put Rangers under pressure early on in an advanced midfield role.

MARTYN WAGHORN - 6

The powerful striker caused problems, especially early on, but failed to beat Craig Gordon from two one-on-ones.

SUBSTITUTES

DEAN WINDASS (for McKay, 59) - 5

Made a decent contribution.

HARRY FORRESTER (for Holt, 81) - 5

His energy helped Rangers in the final stages.

MICHAEL O’HALLORAN (for Waghorn, 84) - 4

Brought into the fray late on.
